Dietcong
7 day fps 2022 game jam entry
Web build, for some reason I can't find, refuses to use pixelize effect on the main screen - if you want to see the game as I've intended, use Windows downloadable.
Dietcong is a short and simple demake of Vietcong, game I was working on 20 years before - a quick attempt how it might look and play if done in late 80s / early 90s (it would look different becase right now it's quick hack in unity instead of true pixelized tiles).
Right now it's just a single level "jungle crawler" with turn-based combat - if it was a whole game, it would have RPG stats and more missions and more complicated combat and lot of other stuff, but this was all I was able to do in few days during game jam.
The music is Pseudohendrix by Rude Kostry, title song from the Vietcong, (ab)used with a permission from the author.
Use mouse or WASD + QE / Cursor keys and Delete End and numerical keys for actions.
Beware, Charlie is watching.

I love it, especially the controls. It makes the game just hard enough where you can't speed through things
